Why a National Index?

There is no centralized public database of state parole hearings, pardon proceedings, or sex offender registry decisions. Each state maintains its own records, in its own format, behind its own search interface — and many of those interfaces are difficult to use or hidden behind menus that the average citizen never finds. The Criminal's Justice System portal indexes verified entries from each state in one place, with the same structure for every entry, so that the records become genuinely searchable for the first time.

Coverage varies by state and grows as volunteers and editors verify and submit new entries. If a state is empty, it doesn't mean nothing is happening there — it means coverage hasn't reached that state yet. Submit a state-relevant tip through the content submission form, or volunteer as a state-level editor through the contact page.

Full State Directory

A complete A–Z list of all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The number badge next to each state shows how many entries currently exist in our index for that jurisdiction.

How entries get added. Every entry on this site is reviewed against a standardized vetting form before publication. Each entry must trace to at least two independent primary public records, and personally identifying details about minors are never published. Read more about the verification standard.
